Wednesday work must be remunerated at double the normal rate for each hour worked by the employee, or at time and a half if the employee normally works on a Wednesday. If the greater part of a shift falls on a Wednesday, the whole of the particular shift is deemed Wednesday work. Employees not essential to work on public holidays falling on ordinary trading days must be paid their normal income for those days, they need to be paid at double their ordinary rate. Refusal by an employee to perform contractual overtime may constitute a disciplinary offence.
